RAINBOW READING COUNCIL 2008-2009

The Rainbow Reading Council is an active part of the Alabama Reading Association (ARA) and the International Reading Association (IRA). The Rainbow Reading Council continues to receive recognition as an IRA Honor Council and ARA Ala-Star recipient. The council was honored this past year with a second place award for community service at the IRA conference in Atlanta. The Rainbow Reading Council supports the importance of reading in all areas of learning, as well as, encourages family reading projects, world-wide literacy efforts, literature in the classroom, young author conferences, and professional development.
