Mission Statement

The mission of the Black Warrior Reading Council is to promote reading and the quality of literacy instruction and support for the West Alabama community.

Our Goals

* Foster life-long literacy habits

* Promote high quality teacher and student learning to improve reading instruction

* Provide community with information and resources

* Collaborate with a range of partners on long-term efforts to improve literacy in the community

* Advance literacy education in West Alabama

*Participate in literacy initiatives sponsored by local literacy leaders

* Promote reading and writing as life-long habits and endeavors
